Make this quick and creamy smoked salmon dip using cream cheese, fresh dill, and lemon. It is a perfect appetizer for parties or brunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 4 ounces smoked salmon, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Pinch of salt (optional, taste first)

Instructions

  1. Place the softened cream cheese in a medium bowl.
  2. Add the chopped smoked salmon, dill, lemon juice, lemon zest, and black pepper to the bowl.
  3. Use a fork or an electric mixer on low speed to combine all ingredients until smooth and creamy. Do not overmix.
  4. Taste the dip and add a small pinch of salt if needed, based on the saltiness of your salmon.
  5. Cover the bowl and chill the dip for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to blend.
  6. Serve cold with crackers, bagel chips, or vegetable sticks.

Notes

  • You can make this dip up to 24 hours ahead of time. Store it covered in the refrigerator.
  • For a tangier flavor, substitute half of the cream cheese with plain Greek yogurt.
  • Garnish the top with a sprinkle of extra dill or a few capers before serving.
