Make this simple Pecan Pie Bark for a crunchy, buttery dessert that captures all the flavor of classic pecan pie without the fuss. It is perfect for gifting or serving at parties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups pecan halves, toasted
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional, for drizzling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 15×10 inch baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the melted butter and graham cracker crumbs. Press this mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 8 minutes until lightly golden.
  3. While the crust bakes, prepare the topping. In a small saucepan, combine the brown sugar, corn syrup, vanilla extract, and salt. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Boil for exactly 1 minute, then remove from the heat immediately.
  4. Stir the toasted pecans into the hot sugar mixture until they are fully coated.
  5. Pour the pecan mixture evenly over the warm graham cracker crust. Spread it out gently with a spatula.
  6. Return the sheet to the oven and bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the topping is bubbly and caramelized.
  7. Remove from the oven. If using chocolate chips, sprinkle them evenly over the hot topping. Let it sit for 5 minutes to soften.
  8. Spread the melted chocolate gently across the top.
  9. Chill the bark in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or until completely firm.
  10. Once firm, break the Pecan Pie Bark into irregular, bite-sized pieces. Store in an airtight container.

Notes

  • Toast your pecans lightly in a dry skillet over medium heat for 5-7 minutes before using to deepen their flavor.
  • For a richer flavor, substitute half the graham cracker crumbs with crushed shortbread cookies.
  • This sweet crunchy delight stores well at room temperature for up to one week if kept in a cool, dry place.
