1 pound thinly sliced deli ham (Black Forest or smoked recommended)
1 pound sliced Swiss cheese or Provolone cheese
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon poppy seeds (optional)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
Slice the entire package of rolls horizontally in one piece, keeping the bottom and top halves intact. Place the bottom half of the rolls in the prepared baking dish.
Layer the ham evenly over the bottom layer of rolls.
Place the cheese slices on top of the ham layer.
Place the top half of the rolls over the cheese.
In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, Dijon mustard, honey, Worcestershire sauce, and onion powder to create the glaze.
Brush the entire top surface of the assembled sliders generously with the honey mustard glaze. Sprinkle with poppy seeds if you are using them.
Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil.
Bake for 15 minutes covered.
Remove the foil and bake for another 5 to 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the tops are lightly golden brown.
Let the sliders rest for 5 minutes before slicing them into individual portions. Serve warm.
Notes
Use thinly sliced deli ham and cheese for even melting and layering.
For extra moisture, you can baste the tops of the sliders with any remaining glaze halfway through the uncovered baking time.
If you prefer a sharper flavor, substitute yellow mustard for Dijon mustard in the glaze.
