Make a thick, creamy vanilla protein smoothie bowl using frozen fruit and minimal liquid for a satisfying breakfast or snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup frozen banana slices
  • 1/2 cup frozen cauliflower florets (optional, for thickness)
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (whey or casein recommended for texture)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk (or less, adjust as needed)
  • 1 tablespoon nut butter (almond or cashew)
  • Toppings: fresh berries, granola, chia seeds

Instructions

  1. Place the frozen banana, frozen cauliflower, vanilla protein powder, vanilla extract, nut butter, and almond milk into a high-powered blender.
  2. Start blending on low, using the tamper constantly to push the ingredients down toward the blades. Do not add extra liquid unless the blender completely stops moving.
  3. Continue blending and tamping until the mixture is completely smooth and has a texture similar to soft-serve ice cream. This may take several minutes.
  4. Scoop the thick mixture into a bowl immediately.
  5. Arrange your desired toppings over the surface of the smoothie bowl.
  6. Serve right away with a spoon.

Notes

  • For the thickest result, use casein protein powder, as it absorbs more liquid than whey.
  • If you do not have a tamper, stop the blender frequently and scrape down the sides with a spatula.
  • For a sweeter bowl, add 1 teaspoon of maple syrup or honey before blending.
  • If you prefer a thinner consistency, add liquid one tablespoon at a time until the blender moves freely.
