Ingredients
Scale
1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
1/2 cup finely chopped peeled apples
1/4 cup chopped pecans (optional)
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1-2 tablespoons milk
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into 8 triangles.
In a small bowl, mix together granulated sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
In another small bowl, combine melted butter and brown sugar.
Dip each crescent triangle into the butter mixture, then dredge it in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
Arrange half of the coated triangles in the bottom of the prepared loaf pan.
Sprinkle the chopped apples, and pecans if using, over the dough in the pan.
Layer the remaining coated crescent triangles on top.
Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
While the bread is baking, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a small bowl until smooth. Add more milk if needed to reach desired drizzling consistency.
Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before drizzling with the glaze.
Serve warm and enjoy pulling it apart!
Notes
For a richer flavor, you can add a pinch of cardamom to the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
Ensure the apples are finely chopped so they cook through easily.
If you don’t have a loaf pan, a round cake pan or a square baking dish will also work. Adjust baking time as needed.
