Prepare this no-bake, make-ahead breakfast the night before for a quick, high-fiber morning meal featuring warm apple and cinnamon flavors.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce or 1/4 cup finely diced apple
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup or sweetener of choice
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • Optional: 1 scoop vanilla protein powder

Instructions

  1. Combine the rolled oats, milk, applesauce (or diced apple), chia seeds, maple syrup, cinnamon, and salt in a jar or container with a lid.
  2. If using protein powder, mix it in thoroughly until no clumps remain.
  3. Seal the container tightly and shake well to mix all ingredients.
  4. Refrigerate for at least 6 hours, or preferably overnight.
  5. In the morning, stir the oats. If the mixture is too thick, add a splash more milk until you reach your desired consistency.
  6. Top with extra cinnamon or chopped nuts before eating.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use diced fresh apple instead of applesauce and add it the night before.
  • If you prefer a thicker texture, increase the chia seeds to 1.5 tablespoons.
  • This recipe is easily doubled for multiple servings.
