Enjoy these delicious churro bites, perfectly crispy from your air fryer. They’re a fun, easy-to-make treat that brings the joy of churros right to your kitchen.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Vegetable oil, for brushing
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, 1 tablespoon sugar, and salt. Heat over medium heat until the butter is melted and the mixture just begins to boil.
  3. Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the flour all at once. Stir vigorously until a dough forms and pulls away from the sides of the pan.
  4. Transfer the dough to a mixing bowl. Let it cool for 5 minutes.
  5. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition until the dough is smooth and glossy. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  6. Spoon or pipe the dough into small, bite-sized portions (about 1-inch pieces) onto the air fryer basket, ensuring they don’t touch. You may need to work in batches.
  7. Lightly brush the churro bites with vegetable oil.
  8. Air fry for 8-10 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
  9. While the churros are cooking, mix together 1/4 cup sugar and cinnamon in a shallow dish.
  10. Once cooked, immediately toss the hot churro bites in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until evenly coated.
  11. Serve warm and enjoy your delightful Air Fryer Churro Bites!

Notes

  • For a smoother dough, you can use a stand mixer with the paddle attachment to incorporate the eggs.
  • If you don’t have a piping bag, you can use two spoons to carefully place the dough into the air fryer basket.
  • Adjust the cooking time based on your air fryer model. Keep an eye on them to prevent burning.
  • For an extra treat, serve with a chocolate dipping sauce.
